Narochanski land associates with a quiet rustle of a pine forest and waves splash of the unique pearl of Belarus - lake Naroch. The picturesque lake, beautiful forests and soft climate caused the making of a large recreation centre on the banks of lake Naroch - the singular health-resort in our republic with sanatoriums, holiday hotels, children camps and tourist centres. The best period for resting lasts about 240 days, a swimming season -about 100 days. Narochanski land is also famous for its mineral water. Numerous monuments of architecture, culture and history created a network of excursion routes for visitors.

During the first half of XX century on the north-west bank of lake Naroch there were built a few villas, a restaurant, yacht-club, sailboat landing-place, a narrow-gauge railway from the station Lintupy through a village Naroch to lake Naroch and a roadway on the northern bank of the lake. During the war all buildings were destroyed.

In the beginning of 50s the first places for resting appeared near a spa settlement Naroch. It's a holiday hotel of 'Zvezda" press, writers7 dacha, tourists' centre. In 1958 the sanatorium "Naroch" started its functioning. But at that time there was no a lay-out and mentioned buildings were located without a long-term planning. Since 1975 an intensive construction of establishments for resting and treating had been started. Nowadays there are 18 sanatoriums and holiday hotels on the banks of lake Naroch. In order to preserve unique nature complexes in 1999 a National Part "Narochanski" was established. Its total area is 94 000 ha including 37,9 thousands ha of forests; 42 reservoirs of area of 18,3 thousands ha. The territory of the NP " Narochanski" refers to the Narochansko-Vileiski forest complex of Oshmiano-Minski region. From this territory the rivers of Zapadno-Dvinski, Nemanski, Dneprovski, Pripiatski basins get own ways. Among all forest massifs of Belarus, forests of the NP "Narichanski" are characterized by the greatest share of pine woods. They cover the western bank of lake Naroch stretching along the left bank of the river Narochanka, along the whole length of the river Vilia. One can rarely see fir- trees among pine woods, they are concentrated to the west of lake Shvakshti, in upper reaches of the river Uglianka.

There are three groups of lakes on the territory of the NP "Narochanski": Narochanskaya, Miadelskaya, Boldunskaya. Narochanskaya group of lakes. This group includes the biggest lake in Belarus - lake Narxh (area - 79,2 ha; average depth - 8,9 m; maximum depth -24,8 m). This lake is unique first of all due to its unique clean water and wonderful sand beaches along its banks What distinguishes this lake is that only few small streams fall into it and the one river of Narochanka flows out. This group of lakes contains lake Miastro (the second big one -1310 ha) and lake Batorino (625 ha) as well. Miadelskaya group of lakes. The core of this group is lake Miadel (area -1620 ha; average depth - 6,6 m; maximum depth - 24,6 m), the others are not large. Boldunskaya group of lakes. It unites lakes situated within the area of the river Stracha. The biggest is lake Bolduk (area - 76 ha; average depth -15,3 m; maximum depth -40 m), 10 smaller ones are included in this group too. Historically, this place is regarded as Mekka of nature-cognitive tourism. Here there are modem equipped tourist camps and routes. This National Park has been founded recently but it has a great potential in the way of ecological tourism developing with strict abidance by rules. There are tourist complex for 82 places, restaurant, autocamping, motor-boat restaurant "Uriiki", equipped tourist camps. On the base of the Experimental Forestry Hunting Ground there is a possibility of hunting organizing.
